CENTERLESS GRINDING —

Centerless grinding for drawing-defined cylindrical components.

Kondak integrates centerless grinding into the manufacture of shafts, pins, rods, bushings, and other cylindrical components when a drawing requires external-diameter finishing and dimensional control.

For cylindrical parts requiring a grinding step after machining.

In centerless grinding, the workpiece is supported without being held between centers while its external diameter is finished. Process selection depends on geometry, stock allowance, material, heat-treatment condition, tolerance, roughness, and quantity.

Shafts, pins, and rods

Review of cylindrical components with external diameters, shoulders, grooves, threads, or other drawing-defined features.

Integrated machining and finishing

Integration with CNC turning, Swiss-type lathes, threading, and inspection to reduce supplier interfaces when the route is approved.

Recurring industrial batches

Review of repeatability, control, documentation, and delivery frequency for components supplied in order-defined batches.

Process, inspection, and documentation defined from the current drawing.

Kondak publishes centerless grinding among its operations. Diameter, length, material, tolerance, roughness, stock allowance, and volume do not form a universal envelope and must be confirmed for each part.

What to send for a centerless-grinding review.

A complete technical package helps determine whether the operation is suitable and prevents assumptions about machine limits, stock allowance, inspection, or material condition.

Common questions about centerless grinding.

Does Kondak provide centerless grinding?

Yes. Centerless grinding is listed among Kondak's published operations for finishing cylindrical components. Feasibility is confirmed after reviewing the drawing, material, stock allowance, tolerance, roughness, and quantity.

Which parts can be reviewed for centerless grinding?

Shafts, pins, rods, bushings, and other cylindrical components can be reviewed. The complete geometry, including shoulders, grooves, threads, and unground sections, determines the possible process route.

What are the diameter, length, and tolerance limits?

Kondak does not publish a universal centerless-grinding limit. Diameter, length, tolerance, roughness, material, heat-treatment condition, and batch are confirmed against the specific drawing revision.

Can grinding be purchased together with turning?

Yes, when the technical review approves the route. Kondak can integrate turning, threading, centerless grinding, inspection, and applicable complementary processes within the same supply.
